Hospital Pricing & Quality

Recently, the federal government’s Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has required all hospitals to publish a list of their charges also known as the hospital Charge Master. Although Olympic Medical Center fully supports this move towards price transparency, it is important to note that what is listed here in most cases are average prices for medical procedures which are subject to change.

Hospital charges are not the amount that a hospital is paid by the government, most private insurers, or the majority of the uninsured. Most importantly, the figures listed are not what a patient may pay for the service/procedure listed. The amount you will owe depends on your insurance plan, deductibles, co-pays, or co-insurance. Please be aware that prices may vary based on pre-existing health conditions, severity of illness, and the actual procedure performed. The prices listed here do not include physician fees (except for the Provider Based Clinic Fee Schedule).

Please note that a DRG, or diagnostic related grouping, is how Medicare and some health insurance companies categorize hospitalization costs and determine how much to pay for a patient's hospital stay.

If you would like more information on a procedure or price, payment options, or possible financial assistance please contact Patient Financial Services at 360-417-7111.

Additional Resources

Washington hospitals are committed to sharing information about the pricing and quality of the health care services they deliver in their communities. The Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA) has developed the following online resources to educate consumers and help them make informed decisions about where they choose to seek care.

Consumers are encouraged to contact their insurance company with questions about coverage, or their physician with questions about a medical condition or proposed treatment.

The data provided is for a specific time period. Please check the site for exact dates.
